The Baffler presents an exciting screening and discussion on the occasion of the book launch of Kleenex/LiliPUT, the English translation of Kleenex/LiliPUT’s guitarist Marlene Marder’s diaries.
Forty-five years have passed since the legendary all-female Swiss punk band debuted in Zürich, but their brash, defiant sound remains as enthralling and relevant as ever. The event will celebrate Kleenex/LiLiPUT by screening the documentary film Road Movie (2006), a compilation of the band’s 1982 Europe tour. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring writer, editor and former content coordinator for Maximum Rocknroll Grace Ambrose, assistant professor of history at Dartmouth College and former coordinator of Maximum Rocknroll Golnar Nikpour, and writer Jenn Pelly.
