On Sunday, March 2, 2025, Switzerland invited to a business reception for an extraordinary Swiss evening of networking, culture, and collaboration during the Montreux Jazz Festival Miami. Held at the scenic Bayshore Club in Coconut Grove, the event showcased the strength of Swiss connections in the Miami area and proved that working together across Swiss and U.S. institutions, organizations, and private sector partners builds a strong and powerful relationship between both countries.
The event brought together a diverse and influential mix of guests, including local government representatives, leaders in education and academia, private sector executives and entrepreneurs as well as musicians, artists, and athletes. This broad representation highlights Switzerland’s deep-rooted and expanding engagement in Southern Florida and specifically in Miami, a city that continues to serve as a crucial hub for business, culture, and international exchange. The evening featured remarks from representatives of the Swiss community, government, and the Montreux Jazz Festival, emphasizing Switzerland’s economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties to Miami:
• Caroline Baumann, Head of Economic, Trade, and Financial Affairs at the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C., underlined Switzerland’s strong economic ties to the U.S. and the importance of strategic partnerships in the region.
• René Riedi, President of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, spoke on the opportunities for businesses in Miami and the city’s role as a gateway for international trade.
• Christophe Kuhn, President of the Swiss Club Miami, emphasized the value of community engagement and the strong Swiss network in the region.
• Mathieu Jaton, CEO of the Montreux Jazz Festival Foundation highlighted the festival’s Swiss roots and its global mission of cultural exchange through music.
