The Swiss Film Club offers a great opportunity to explore Switzerland’s cultural facets and various areas of positive impact. Each month, this series introduces a Swiss film to the U.S. audience and enables filmmakers from Switzerland to take their work far beyond the country’s borders.
The Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C. features Swiss film productions (or co-productions) and offers free streaming throughout the U.S. for a period of up to ten days. The film screenings are accompanied by live discussions with directors, authors, and actors who provide exclusive insights into the making of a film and its relevance for the various issues addressed. The audience gets a unique chance to actively participate by asking questions or raising points for discussion, thus learning more about Switzerland’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity.
While most of the screenings are currently conducted virtually, we are gradually returning to physical events and showing some films during in-person screenings in the Washington, D.C. area.
