Fulbright Chicago, in partnership with the Consulate General of Switzerland, the Consulate General of the Czech Republic, the Consulate General of Brazil, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, cordially invites you to an evening celebration in honor of International Jazz Day 2026 on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Established by UNESCO, International Jazz Day is a worldwide celebration that recognizes jazz as a powerful force for artistic excellence, intercultural dialogue, and international understanding. Held annually on April 30, this global event unites communities across continents in recognition of jazz’s enduring cultural significance.
We are especially proud that Chicago has been named the Global Host City for 2026, an extraordinary distinction that reflects the city’s historic legacy as one of the great centers of jazz and its continuing role in shaping the global cultural landscape.
Born from the rich cultural traditions of the American South, jazz has become one of the United States’ most influential artistic contributions to the world – an art form that transcends geography, language, and borders.
The Chicago Fulbright International Jazz Day Festival will present distinguished artists representing the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Poland, and Brazil, featuring performances by Martina Barta, The Samuel Mösching Ethereal Kinks, The Artur Dutkiewicz Trio, and the Chicago Samba Group.
Please join us for an evening of exceptional music, cultural exchange, and international fellowship as we celebrate the universal language of jazz.
