The Swiss Consul General in New York, Ambassador Niculin Jaeger presented the first ever Swiss Impact Award to the Swiss ice hockey players on the New Jersey Devils, Nico Hischier, Jonas Siegenthaler, Akira Schmid and Timo Meier. The award recognizes outstanding Swiss achievements in the United States.

At an official ceremony on March 28, 2023, in the presence of dignitaries of the states of New York and New Jersey, the four players of the New Jersey Devils have received the Swiss Impact Award in recognition of their impressive contribution to the NHL and their successful season.

Receiving the award, Swiss captain and center of the New Jersey Devils, Nico Hischier said: “It’s an honor to receive this award. It is definitely something special, and it shows how much support we are getting from Switzerland. A whole country that supports us. And it’s just great to see that Switzerland does things like this.”

The Swiss Impact Award was presented for the first time ever this year by the Consulate General of Switzerland in New York. Further honors will follow.
