From September 19-26, 2026, Come Togäther Week returns to the Atlanta area with a week of events celebrating the language, culture, and connections of German-speaking countries.
Organized by the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta together with the Consulates General of Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, and the Consulate of Austria as well as local partners, the week brings German-speaking culture to Georgia through literature, film, career opportunities, language, and community events.
The week kicks off on Saturday, September 19, at 10:00am with a live connection to Munich and the opening day of Oktoberfest. Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta will offer an exclusive livestream from the world-famous celebration, bringing a taste of Bavaria to Atlanta.
On Monday, September 21, from 4:00 to 6:00pm, the International Career Fair will highlight professional and educational opportunities connected to German-speaking countries. Participants will have the opportunity to meet companies and organizations with ties to the German-speaking world and learn more about international career paths.
Literature takes center stage on Tuesday, September 22, with Literature Day at Atlanta International School and the International Charter School of Atlanta. Through stories and cultural activities, students will have the opportunity to engage with literature and discover different perspectives from the German-speaking world.
On Wednesday, September 23, at 6:00 pm, film enthusiasts can look forward to the annual Kurzfilmnacht, an evening dedicated to short films and contemporary storytelling from the German-speaking world.
The week concludes on Saturday, September 26, from 10:00am to 2:00pm, with “Spend a Saturday in Germany – Without Leaving Georgia!” at the South Cobb Regional Library in Mableton.
The immersive cultural event invites visitors of all ages to discover the sights, sounds, stories, and traditions of Germany and its German-speaking neighbors. The program will feature hands-on activities, talks, language and culture mini-lessons, music, art, history, food samples, and activities for children.
