On October 14, 2026, Swiss electrification and automation company ABB officially opened its newly expanded facility at its site in Senatobia, Mississippi. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, Senatobia Mayor Greg Graves and Swiss Consul General Rolf Ott joined ABB leaders, employees, and state and local representatives to cut the ribbon.
The newly enlarged facility will significantly increase ABB’s production capacity for air circuit breakers and molded case circuit breakers, helping meet growing demand for advanced electrification and automation technologies. These technologies help ensure reliable electrical infrastructure for sectors including advanced manufacturing, renewable energy and data centers. This ABB facility is expected to also create additional jobs.
The Switzerland-based leading manufacturer of electrification and automation technologies has deep roots in the United States, where it has operated for more than 100 years and has a presence in 20 states. The newly expanded ABB facility builds on that scientific and technical expertise while strengthening ABB’s broader manufacturing presence in the United States.
Switzerland is currently the sixth-largest foreign direct investor in the United States and Swiss-affiliated companies already support more than 2,200 jobs in Mississippi, covering sectors such as life sciences, advanced manufacturing and technology.
The ceremony also highlighted the longstanding connections between Switzerland and Mississippi, bringing together Swiss engineering expertise, American manufacturing capabilities, and local talent. ABB’s $40 million investment demonstrates how strong international economic partnerships can translate into local jobs, skills development, expanded manufacturing capacity, and long-term opportunities.
The Consulate General of Switzerland congratulates ABB and its team on this expansion and looks forward to the continued growth of Swiss investment and innovation in Mississippi.
